When a post is longer than a platform allows, Poster shortens it at a sentence or word boundary for that platform only and shows the result in the preview.
How to connect Instagram
- Switch your Instagram to a professional (Business or Creator) account — Instagram allows publishing through apps only for those.
- In Poster, open Platforms → Instagram and sign in with Instagram. Poster never sees your password.
- Write a post, choose Post, Reels or Story for Instagram, and publish now or at a set time.
Tips for Instagram
- Instagram requires a photo or a video in every post — the preview tells you before you publish if one is missing.
- Poster center-crops photos that fall outside 4:5…1.91:1, so a vertical photo for TikTok can still become a neat Instagram post.
- Links in captions aren't clickable on Instagram. Put the link on networks that show it as a card, and “link in bio” here.

Can Poster delete an Instagram post?
No — Instagram doesn't allow deleting posts through apps. Delete it in the Instagram app; Poster removes it from your other networks.
